I have read about two independent but related functions of design. One is that design can be strategically used by companies to help plan their manufacturing and shape their marketing, and the other is that it plays a more obvious role in making individual products attractive to consumers. effect. Design is communication and transmission, while art is performance and creation. This is not to say that there are no expressive elements in design, and it is not to say that art does not care about communication. However, the emphasis on these two items is quite different. Design cannot be done based on feelings. Various factors must be considered, the best way of expression must be found, and one’s feelings must be translated into an effective visual language that the public can understand. According to the definition of industrial designer Victor Papanek, design is a conscious and intuitive effort to build a meaningful order. A more detailed definition is as follows: Step 1: Understand user expectations, needs, and motivations, and understand business, technical, and industry needs and restrictions. The second step: Transform these known things into product planning (or the product itself), making the form, content and behavior of the product useful, usable, desirable, and economically and technically feasible. (This is the meaning and basic requirement of design).

In the interaction design I have recently learned, I found that the communication between the designed product and the user is the most important. With the development of modern technology, the arrival of the knowledge society, and the evolution of innovative forms, design is also evolving from the work of professional designers to a wider range of user participation. User-centric and user-participated innovative design has attracted increasing attention. In my work last semester, the innovative model of user participation is gradually emerging. User needs, user participation, and user-centeredness are considered to be important characteristics of design innovation under new conditions. Users become the key words of innovation, and user experience is also considered to be the core of the innovation model in the knowledge society environment. Design is no longer the patent of professional designers. User participation and user-centeredness have also become the keywords of design.
